Sample of cells
Sample of cells. Researcher's gloved hand holding a sample tube containing cells (small sample seen at the base of the tube). The sample is being thawed from liquid nitrogen storage (hence the use of the thick rubber gloves). The cells are being used in cell culture research. The cells will be extracted from the sample tube and cultured in a nutrient medium to produce cells for further study. A wide range of cells can be studied in this manner, such as cancer cells and stem cells. Photographed at the Genethon Laboratory in France.
