Forensic training
Forensic training. Scene of crime officers (SOCOs) consulting notes at a staged murder scene. A dummy representing a dead body has been buried in a shallow grave under branches and leaf litter (bottom). The SOCOs are wearing protective clothing in the form of paper suits, overshoes and masks to prevent contamination of the crime scene. Metal platforms (centre) are used by the SOCOs to walk across the site, preventing destruction of evidence. SOCOs provide scientific support to police forces. They establish what evidence is required from a crime scene and the best way to obtain it. Photographed on a training course.
