Resin patterns. Light micrograph of patterns that have formed in a resin mixture as it dries and shrinks. This is Canada balsam resin that was dissolved in xylol - the patterns formed as the xylol solvent evaporated. These patterns were observed on a microscope slide, where the resin was being used to fix samples for examination under a microscope.
