Contaminated Water Treatment at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant: South Korea Protests against Release of Treated Water into the Pacific Ocean.
Students' sit-down demo against Japan to release water contaminated with radioactive material from Fukushima, Apr 19, 2021 : College students stage a sit-down demo in front of Twin Tree Tower where the Japanese Embassy in South Korea is housed in Seoul, South Korea as policemen stand guard. The students have been holding a sit-in in front of the embassy since April 16 to protest against the Japanese government's decision to discharge water contaminated with radioactive material from the wrecked Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Signs which the students are holding read,"Japan cancel the decision to discharge radioactive water" (2nd L), "We strongly condemn U.S. administration that has expressed its support for the Japanese government's decision to discharge radioactive water from Fukushima" (R) and "Japan drink the water contaminated with radioactive material" (2nd R).
