Coloured LM of high grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
High grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Coloured light micrograph (LM) of a lymph node lymphoid tissue section with diffuse B-cell lymphoma, a type of high grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer). The large B-cells, or B-lymphocyte white blood cells (brown cytoplasm), are widely spread through the tissue. Cell nuclei are stained blue. Unlike low grade lymphoma this is a highly malignant form of cancer. It leads to headache, skin ulcers and lymph node enlargement. Treatment is by radiotherapy, anti-cancer drugs or bone marrow transplant. CD20 stained cells. Magnification: x200 at 35mm size. See photo M132/527 for low grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
