Cochlear implant testing
MODEL RELEASED. Cochlear implant testing. Audiologist testing the hearing of a seven year old girl with a cochlear implant. A computer is used to produce sounds of varying pitch and loudness in the girl's ears one at a time. The sounds decrease in volume until they become inaudible. The child makes a response with a hand signal to the audiologist each time she detects a sound. Cochlear implants enable the profoundly deaf to have some awareness of sound.
