Artemis I NASA mission stages diagram. Artemis I will be the first uncrewed mission test flight of NASA's Artemis program, which will return humans to the Moon. The Orion capsule, launched by a Space Launch System rocket, will spend around three weeks in space, orbiting both the Earth and Moon, covering over 450,000 kilometres. This is longer and further than any spacecraft designed to carry humans has flown before. Artemis I is scheduled for launch in November 2021.
