Sinus surgery
Sinus surgery. Surgeons performing functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). FESS involves the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nose and sinuses using endoscopes and CT scans. An endoscope is a thin, fibre-optic tube that can be inserted into the nose to examine the sinuses. It allows surgical procedures to be performed entirely through the nostrils, leaving no external scars, little swelling and only mild discomfort. The equipment used to monitor the patient's vital signs is seen in the background at upper centre.
