Cancer treatment plan. Screenshot of a radiotherapy treatment plan for targeting prostate cancer (pink) using a linear accelerator. Linear accelerators are used in radiotherapy as a source of high-voltage X-rays, which can deliver a precisely targeted dose of radiation to treat some cancers. Here, the design is for three differently angled beams to converge on the tumour. Also seen are the heads of the femurs, or thigh bones, (green), the bladder (cyan) and the rectum (brown).
