Dried vervain
Dried vervain (Verbena officinalis) for use in herbal medicine. Infusions of this herb have been used to treat nervous complaints and to promote digestion by aiding the action of the stomach and increasing the flow of bile. Applied locally as a poultice, it eases aches and pains. It has also been used to reduce high temperatures. According to historical records, it was also used as an aphrodisiac. In Eastern medicine, vervain is believed to have anti-malarial properties.
