Dental X-ray
Dental X-ray mounted against a light-box. This is a panoramic wraparound X-ray that shows all the teeth of both the upper and lower jaw. Both the crowns of the teeth, and their roots, are seen. The molars, at the back of the mouth, have double roots. At the front of the mouth are the pre-molars, canines, and incisors. The roots of the teeth are embedded in the gums and jaw bones. Part of the paranasal sinuses and nasal spaces are seen above the teeth. A dentist will examine the X-ray for signs of tooth decay and other dental disorders. Cavities in the teeth will show up as dark spaces.
