Breastfeeding advice. Infant feeding advisor (left) advising a mother on the best techniques for breastfeeding her baby boy. He was born less than 24 hours ago. Advice at this stage will focus on correct positioning and how to ensure proper attachment. It would also include information on frequency and duration of feeds, as well as advice on common problems like engorgement of the baby (overfeeding) and sore nipples. It is also important to understand feeding cues and the behaviour of the infant. Breast milk is considered an ideal mix of nutrients and antibodies to feed and protect a baby.
