EEG brain measurement during mobile phone research
Mobile telephone research. Man using electro- encephalography (EEG) to monitor the brain of a woman (at centre) using a mobile telephone. Cancer and changes in hormone levels may be caused by the microwaves emitted by a mobile telephone. A mobile telephone user absorbs about 0.1 watts of microwave energy in their head. The woman's brain activity is being measured by the electrodes in the cap and recorded onto the computer. During the experiment, volunteers use a mobile telephone for two hours a day, five days a week, for one month. The levels of electrical activity measured reveal how much certain parts of the brain are being used. Photographed in Montpellier, France.
