Body for 'Visible Human' being put into storage
Mortuary. Mortuary technicians placing a male human body into a mobile cold storage facility. This equipment is being used for bodies donated for medical research purposes; normally the 'body bag' would be opaque and a mobile cooler would not be required. This body is a candidate cadaver, an 'average' healthy male, for the Visible Human Project. Along with its female counterpart, it will be archived in digital form as a full set of CAT scans, MRI scans and about 1000 physical thin sections for the US National Library of Medicine. Photographed at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver.
