Infant CPR first aid training
Infant CPR training. Woman being taught how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an infant, using a mannequin. CPR is a combination of artificial respiration (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, seen here) and heart massage (cardiac compressions). It is used if an infant has gone into cardiac arrest (heart stopped beating) and if breathing has stopped or is very shallow. Infants should be placed on a hard surface before CPR is begun and only very small breaths should be used.
