Anaesthetised dog
Anaesthetised dog. Head of an Alsatian under a general anaesthetic. An endotracheal tube (breathing tube) has been inserted into the dog's trachea (windpipe) to aid its breathing. Its tongue is pulled out of its mouth to prevent the dog from choking on it. The dog is being operated on to treat cancer of the spleen.
