Armory Square Hospital. Patients in Ward K of Armory Square Hospital, Washington, D.C., USA. This hospital was one of many established in Washington during the American civil war to cope with the vast number of casualties arriving from the front. After the war the hospital was surplus to requirements but the building survived until it was demolished in 1964. Photographed in 1865.
