Hand anatomy
Hand anatomy. Cross-section through a gross specimen of a hand. This is the palm side of the hand. Muscles are brown, tendons are white, blood vessels overlay the tendons. Tendons are bands of inelastic fibrous tissue that connect bones to muscle. The hand tendons, which run from the muscles of the arm, through the wrist to the tip of the fingers, extend and flex the fingers.
