Fingertip. Kirlian photograph of a human fingertip showing the electromagnetic discharge around its edge. This luminous discharge results from high- energy interactions between the fingertip and a strong applied electric field. The shape, colour and form of the discharge around a living body has been said to represent its aura, which is indicative of the physical and mental health of the individual. Some therapists claim to be able to repair damaged auras, and to diagnose diseases before physical symptoms become apparent. These claims are not supported by conventional medicine.
