High-pressure training research
MODEL RELEASED. High-pressure training research. Scientific study being carried out in a hyperbaric (high-pressure) chamber. An athlete (left) is being monitored to see how his body responds to the high pressure environment. In this sort of environment the body can absorb more oxygen, which improves healing and recovery rates. Training in such an environment makes it possible to increase muscle force and decrease lactic acid production, which increases endurance. It also speeds recovery after exercise. Photographed at Comex, Marseilles, France.
