Preparing \Return to Flight\" mission"
Preparing \Return to Flight\" mission. Space shuttle Discovery at Launch Pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on 13 July 2005. Most of the gantries have been removed. The shuttle was scheduled for launch at 15:51 local time, but the launch was abandoned when a sensor in the main external fuel tank (orange) malfunctioned. This is part of the preparations for mission STS-114, \"Return to Flight\", the first flight of a space shuttle since the space shuttle Columbia broke up on re-entry in February 2003. The sensor design was tested and the shuttle finally launched on 26 July 2005."
