Lifeboat launch
Lifeboat launch. Lifeboat sliding down a ramp into the sea, on its way to a rescue. Lifeboats are maintained at onshore stations in coastal communities and are often staffed by volunteers. They are used for rescuing the crews of stricken vessels and so must be sea worthy even in the worst of conditions. Buoyancy, stability, the ability to self bail (remove on-board water) and to right themselves after capsizing are essential.
