Aircraft water crash simulator
Water crash simulator. Replica of an aircraft cockpit (centre) suspended over a pool of water. The pool is 40 metres long by 12 metres wide, and is 6 metres deep. The replica cockpit is plunged into the pool to recreate the conditions of a crash at sea. This allows aircraft crews to train in emergency escape procedures. This is the CESSAN centre for the training of the French navy and airforce in survival and salvage skills. It is located at the French Navy's Lanveoc Poulmic Base, Brest, France.
