Car parts coated using physical vapour deposition
Coated car parts. Technician inspecting cogs for use in cars, after they have been coated with a thin film using a physical vapour deposition (PVD) process. During the PVD process, the cogs were placed in a chamber which was filled with a low-pressure vapour or plasma. The vapour then deposited itself on the cogs. Photographed in Germany.
