Water industry. Close-up of the dividing arms in a clarifying unit being used in the flocculation and settling stage for purifying drinking water at a waterworks. These arms are part of a circular basin that uses flow control technology to promote flocculation (where small particles clump together and float to the surface) and settling (where sediment and other fine particles settle out of solution). The purified water is then passed on to the next stage of the process. This clarifier unit uses Cyclofloc technology.
