k Enterocytozoon sp. parasite, coloured TEM Protozoan spore release. Coloured transmission electron micrograph TEM of an Enterocytozoon bieneusi spore orange leaving a host cell. This parasite invades the epithelial cells pink of the human intestines, usually in immunocompromised patients. It may cause severe diarrhoea and weight loss. The parasite is thought to be ingested in contaminated food and water. Asexual replication merogony inside the host cell produces mature spores, which are released from the cell by a process known as extrusion, and expelled from the body in the faeces. Magnification x2222 at 6x7cm size. Stock Photo - Afloimages

Protozoan spore release. Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of an Enterocytozoon bieneusi spore (orange) leaving a host cell. This parasite invades the epithelial cells (pink) of the human intestines, usually in immunocompromised patients. It may cause severe diarrhoea and weight loss. The parasite is thought to be ingested in contaminated food and water. Asexual replication (merogony) inside the host cell produces mature spores, which are released from the cell by a process known as extrusion, and expelled from the body in the faeces.
