Jumping spider (family Salticidae)
Jumping spider (family Salticidae) resting on a green leaf in a forest in Madagascar. Jumping spiders are visual hunters which creep up on their prey before jumping on them from a few centimetres away. As they see in colour may species are brightly coloured. Salticidae forms the largest spider family in the world with over 4000 species.
