Sea slug
Sea slug or nudibranch (Chromodoris leopardus). The gills (breathing structures, upper right) are seen, as well as the two rhinophores (centre left). These are used to sense chemicals in the water. Nudibranchs (meaning naked gills) are sea slugs that lack a shell or true gills. They are carnivorous, feeding on invertebrates, and may store toxins from their prey for use against predators. The bright body colour indicates that they are poisonous. Photographed off Mantanani, Malaysia.
