Shark feeding
Shark feeding. Scuba divers watching as other divers hand-feed Caribbean reef sharks (Carcharhinus perezi). This is performed mainly for the benefit of tourists, and is a controversial activity. Critics of shark feeding claim that it makes predatory marine life, such as sharks and barracuda, associate humans with food, thus making attacks more likely. The divers are protected by chain mail suits to protect them from accidental bites. Photographed off New Providence Island in the Bahamas, in the Caribbean Sea.
