Clown fish
Clown fish (Amphiprion bicinctus) in a giant anemone (Condylactis gigantea). These fish are also known as anemone fish because they have a mutualistic relationship (both partners benefit) with anemones. This species of clown fish sleeps, hides, eats and lays its eggs between the poisonous tentacles of the giant anemone. The fish is covered in a slime that prevents the anemone's stinging cells from harming it and its white body stripes resemble the anemone's tentacles. In return, the fish cleans the anemone and ensures a supply of food detritus for the anemone to feed on.
