Sacred ibises
Sacred ibises in a tree. The sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) is a carnivorous bird that probes for small animals in wetlands, grassland and fields. It also eats offal or carrion and sometimes feeds in rubbish dumps. The sacred ibis is native to sub-Saharan Africa but colonies have been established elsewhere. Photographed in Camargue, southern France.
