Burchell's coucal
Burchell's coucal (Centropus burchelli). Coucals are non-parasitic members of the cuckoo family of birds. They are ground-foraging insectivores that clamber around in thick bush. They are weak flyers and prefer to run from predators. This coucal has a gurgling call and is found in southern Africa. Photographed in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
