Grey Wolves. View of two grey wolves (Canis lupus) standing over a deer kill in the snow. The wolves are displaying aggresive gestures towards each other. A fully grown grey wolf has a body length of 100-140 cm and a body weight of 18-80 kg. It preys on large herbivores such as elk, bison and mountain sheep as well as deer. The grey wolf lives in packs of 5-15 individuals. It is found mainly in North America and Asia, however there are residual populations in Mexico, Europe and Scandinavia. The grey wolf is an endangered species in all American states except Alaska. Photographed in Utah, USA.
