Bat-eared fox
Bat-eared fox (Otocyon megalotis) hiding in its den. The bat-eared fox is a very good digger and lives in dens with multiple entrances and chambers, and several metres of tunnels. They inhabit grassland and savannah in eastern and southern Africa. The Serengeti (eastern) foxes are mostly nocturnal. This carnivorous animal mainly feeds on insects, with termites and dung beetles making up 80% of its diet. Photographed in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, Africa.
