Dartmoor pony
Dartmoor pony (Equus caballus) using its hoof to knock snow from the gorse (Ulex sp.) in order to feed. This pony has bred on Dartmoor for centuries. They are very hardy animals having adapted well to the hard conditions of the moor. These ponies are feral or in ownership, they are not truly wild. Photographed on Dartmoor, Devon, UK.
