Soshu enoshima benzaiten kaicyo sankei gunshu no zu. translation: Opening celebration of Benzaiten Shrine at Enoshima in Soshu. by Hiroshige, 1797-1858, Japanese artist. [between 1848 and 1854] woodcut, colour. Japanese triptych print shows large groups of women pilgrims visiting Enoshima shrine to worship an image of Benzaiten, the Goddess of Good Fortune. They are walking towards an island on a causeway with sailboats and Mount Fuji in the background.
