Oregon wildfires, July 2021
Satellite image of smoke from the Bootleg wildfire in Oregon, USA, which was the largest wildfire in the country at the time this image was taken. As of the 18th July 2021 the fire, which started on the 6th July, has burnt over 1,200 square kilometres. The smoke from this and other fires in the west has travelled over 3000 kilometres to the east, causing poor air quality and visibility in east coast cities, including New York City.
