"In 1961, the ship collided with the American Bear in the Kii Channel. The stern of the "Dai-Ichi Keihan Maru," which was completely cut in half, was unable to stop its engine and was spinning in the ocean. The photo shows the patrol boat "Shimachidori" towing the bow section of the ship, about 10 km west of Cape Hinomisaki, Hidaka-gun, Wakayama Prefecture.
