Dermatitis due to wristwatch allergy. A circular red rash on a patient's wrist caused by allergy to nickel in a wristwatch casing. This type of skin reaction, called contact dermatitis, is best dealt with by avoiding the substance that provokes it. Severe dermatitis rashes can be controlled by corticosteroid drugs. Scratching should be avoided to prevent further damage to the skin, which could lead to infection.
