Nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma, micrograph
The neoplastic cells of nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma are called LP cells - which stands for lymphocyte-predominant cells. A single LP cell is seen at the centre of this image. Given the shape of their nucleus with complex infoldings, LP cells have also been referred to as popcorn cells. They have one or more basophilic nucleoli and scant cytoplasm., Photo by WEBPATHOLOGY/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY
