Japan, Sado gold mine submitted to Unesco
Animatronics inside the Sohdayu mine on Sado island show the life during the gold mine exploitation, on July 13, 2022. Under a split-top mountain on the Japanese island of Sado lies a network of centuries-old mines that have sparked a new diplomatic row with South Korea as Japan used Koreans forced labour inside the mine.
