Watercolour painting showing a section of the intestine of a patient who had yellow fever. Yellow fever is a viral infection that spread by mosquitoes. Symptoms include fever, headache and nausea (flu-like symptoms). In serious cases there may be liver and kidney damage (necrosis), and even death. Yellow fever causes yellowing of the skin due to jaundice. Published between 1900 to 1930.
