Some of the demonstrations turned violent
A Japanese car dealership covered its front with a curtain for fear of being attacked by a mob of anti-Japanese demonstrators. Anti-Japanese demonstrations in China began on the 18th at more than 60 locations, including in front of the Japanese Embassy in Beijing. This is the eighth consecutive day of demonstrations since the Japanese government nationalized the Senkaku Islands on November 11. Japanese schools and Japanese-affiliated businesses were closed and Japanese employees were forced to stay at home on this day, which marked the 81st anniversary of the Lake Liujo Incident, which triggered the Manchurian Incident.
