EarthCARE satellite. Computer illustration of the planned joint European/Japanese EarthCARE satellite in Earth orbit. EarthCARE (Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer) will be the sixth satellite of the European Space Agency's (ESA) Living Planet Programme. The mission's aim is to observe and characterise clouds and aerosols as wells as to measure the reflected solar radiation and infrared radiation emitted from the Earth's surface.
