Superconducting Linear Motor Car

Japan: August 8, 2007, Tsuru, Yamanashi Prefecture - The state-of-the-art Linear Exporess, a magnetic levitation car designed and developed by Central Japan Railway Co., runs on its test track in Tsuru development facility, Yamanashi Prefecture, 74 km west of Tokyo. The train which will be able to carry 1,000 passengers, is slated to go into service in 2027, linking Shinagawa Station in central Tokyo with Nagoya, central Japan in 40 minutes.
