Great East Japan Earthquake
Already 2 years have passed since the catastrophe.
March 8, 2013, Minami-Sanriku, Japan - Steel frames are the remnants of what once was the disaster control center of this township of Minami-Sanriku, Miyagi Prefecture on March 8, 2013. The community located deep inside one of estuaries by the Pacific Ocean was totally wiped out when the Magnitude 9.0 earthquake and ensuing mounds of tsunami struck the nation's northeast region, leaving more than 15,000 people dead and ravaging wide swaths of coastal towns and villages two years ago on March 11.
