South Korea's opposition leader Lee Jae-Myung appears for questioning at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office in Seoul

Supporters of Lee Jae-Myung, January 28, 2023 : Supporters of Lee Jae-Myung, chair of the main opposition Democratic Party of South Korea, stage a rally to encourage him as he appears for questioning in front of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office in Seoul, South Korea. The prosecution suspects that Lee Jae-Myung, during his time as Seongnam mayor, provided preferential treatment to private companies in property development project in Seongnam, allowing them to make unfair profits. Lee released a statement on Saturday, refuting all allegations and claimed his innocence, accusing the prosecution of fabricating charges against him and abusing its power for a politically motivated probe of a former presidential election rival of South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, according to local media.
