Blackneck moth
Mating pair of blacknecks (Lygephila pastinum) resting on a grass stem in calcareous grassland habitat. There is a single generation each year with the flight period from July to September. This species is a member of the Erebidae family and is found in the southern half of the UK. The larval food is tufted vetch.
