Construction workers call for South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's resignation in Seoul
Construction workers' protest, May 16, 2023 : Workers from the Korean Construction Workers' Union participate in a protest in central Seoul, South Korea. About 25,000 construction workers participated in the rally to protest President Yoon Suk Yeol's labor policies and to call for Yoon's resignation. The workers commemorated a 50-year-old union member Yang Hoe-Dong who killed himself by self-immolation in early May while facing a prosecution investigation. The construction workers' union has accused the government of oppressive and fabricated investigations targeting Yang and the workers' union, local media reported.
