Hoverfly
Hoverfly (Helophilus trivittatus), a member of the family Syrphidae. It is often found in wetlands, river margins and seasonally flooded grasslands. The flight period is from May to October. Adults feed on a wide range of flowers, including umbellifers. The larvae are detritivores associated with the decaying rhizomes of specific plants.
